Over the past couple of weeks, there have been a lot of questions raised about who should manage Real Madrid next. Currently, the Italian manager, Carlo Ancelotti, is the manager of Real Madrid and has always brought out the best in his players. But his contract with the club will expire in the upcoming seasons, and to whom will he pass the baton? Will it be Jose Mourinho, Xabi Alonso, Zinedine Zidane, or someone else? But I guess Ancelotti has already found the perfect replacement for Madrid if he is not going to be the club’s manager.
Recently, in an interview, Carlo Ancelotti praised Alonso and said,
“Xabi Alonso can be a future Real Madrid manager, without a doubt!”
Here is the full statement when he was asked if Alonso would be Madrid’s next manager: “Xabi Alonso? He can be a future Real Madrid manager, without a doubt. He can do this job and has all the qualities to be a good manager. I like him and how he coaches his team. He’s one of the managers I like the most.”
Currently, Alonso is managing Bayer Leverkusen FC, and they are undefeated in the Bundesliga. Not just undefeated but has won 11 out of their 12 games and is standing at the top of the table (as of November 2024). They are ahead of teams like Bayern Munich, Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and many more.
Maybe not in the upcoming seasons, but after 2025, Xabi Alonso may join Real Madrid as their manager. It will be a homecoming for him, as he represented the club from 2009 to 2014 in his playing career. Do let us know whether he should join Madrid or stay with Bayer Leverkusen for a few more seasons. Till then, let’s take a look at his stats in his managerial career.
