Several teams in the NFL have let go of some of their best players. Similarly, in 2022, when the Chiefs let go of Tyreek Hill, it was one of the most unimaginable decisions. If you remember, a couple of seasons ago, the Kansas City Chiefs won the Super Bowl, and Hill played a major role. Well, now he is a part of the Miami Dolphins and is one of their big guns.
Recently, he was part of an interview with Robert Griffin III and opened up about how he joined the Dolphins.
Tyreek Hill mentioned:
“I talked about the deal with the Chiefs, and it was on both sides until it made sense (salary). But it couldn’t happen, and later I had a deal with the Dolphins.”
Later, Robert Griffin III said,
“The biggest mistake the chiefs ever made was letting you (Tyreek Hill) go.”
As of now, the decision to let him go hasn’t gone wrong for the Chiefs. They won the 2022 Super Bowl Championship and have almost qualified for the 2024 playoffs. On the other hand, Hill joined the Dolphins, and after six long years, they made their playoff appearance. Even if we look at the 2024 season standings, both the Dolphins and Chiefs have almost qualified for the playoffs and have a potential match-card ahead.
