Manchester United climbed up to 6th place in the Premier League as they defeated Aston Villa 3-2. Thanks to Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund, who helped them with the final breakthrough during the 82nd minute. Surprisingly, it took him 15 games and over 1000 minutes to score his first Premier League goal.
Hojlund moved from Atlanta to Manchester United during the 2024 summer transfer window. Fan roped him as one of the best transfers and even compared him to Erling Haaland.
The reason is that he has scored seven goals in his last eight international games, including a hat trick. He also scored five goals in six games for United in the UEFA Champions League group-stage games. But when it came down to the Premier League, it was a drought for goals. Finally, during the United vs. Villa games, he scored his first Premier League goal.
Later, Rasmus Hojlund said,
“I am the happiest man in the world.”
He also mentioned, “I have scored the first one finally; I am so happy, and I can build on that now.”
It was not just him but the entire Manchester United team who were happy. The entire team celebrated with him when he scored his first goal, which also turned out to be the match-winning goal. Will Hojlund continue to score more goals in the upcoming much-needed game? Do let us know your views in the comment sections. Till then, let us look at his 2024–24 season stats.
