Man City agreed personal terms with Mateo Kovacic

The Croatian joined Chelsea in 2018 from Real Madrid, originally on loan, and then permanently the following year.

In front of a potential transfer this summer, City and Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic have reached a personal agreement. The Croatian international has been a fixture at Chelsea for some time, but it looks more and more probable that he will depart Stamford Bridge this summer.

According to rumours, the footballer wants to leave West London following a bad season and join The Etihad. The 29-year-old Kovacic made 37 appearances this season in all competitions, but he was unable to save the Blues from a miserable 12th-place finish in the Premier League standings. Chelsea will allow Mateo Kovacic to leave

The Croatian joined Chelsea in 2018 from Real Madrid, originally on loan, and then permanently the following year. Since then, he has played in 221 matches for Chelsea. The four-time Champions League champion, though, might yet depart Chelsea this summer, according to Romano. After Saturday’s Champions League match between City and Inter, talks between the two teams are scheduled to occur.

Several central midfielders, including Kovacic, could leave Stamford Bridge this summer. Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount are both rumoured to be in permanent negotiations with other clubs about leaving the team. Denis Zakaria, another loanee, is also scheduled to return to his parent club Juventus following a rather disappointing loan stint in the capital, during which he made 11 appearances.
