Premier League Transfer: Relegated Players that can attract big-money deals

The name that tops the list is the Leicester City midfielder James Maddison, who has been a prolific player for the Foxes

The Premier League 2022/23 has been a rollercoaster ride for all the teams this season, some of them have performed much better than anticipated and some teams have let themselves down. But still, the competition existed throughout the final matchday and such an example is Everton avoiding relegation just by a little margin. However, some of the prominent PL teams have stepped down to the Championship and opened the way for some of their star players to move back to the Premier League. So today we will look into such players that can attract big money deals from the current Premier League teams during this transfer window.

James Maddison (Leicester City)

The name that tops the list is the Leicester City midfielder James Maddison, who has been a prolific player for the Foxes and was the heart of their midfield. But according to rumours, Newcastle and Spurs are already making every effort to get the midfielder and are ready to spend some big amount for his service. Maddison led the stat chart with 69 important passes this season, scoring 10 goals and assisting on nine more this season.

Harvey Barnes (Leicester City)

Well, it’s not a surprise to see that most of the players are going to be from Leicester City, as because the Foxes have been a formidable force in the Premier League and has shown their ability in the last few seasons. So Harvey Barnes is the next top target that will seek interest from many teams from the PL including the recently promoted ones. Barnes had a successful season as well, who led Leicester in scoring with 13 goals. In the whole league, only 11 players scored more than Barnes. However, Newcastle are keen to rebuild their squad and sees Harvey Barnes as an important player for their system and similar to them Spurs, and Aston Villa are also keeping an eye on the 25-year-old, as they are with Maddison. So it won’t be long before the winger makes his way up.

Youri Tielemans (Leicester City)

Another midfielder maestro from Leicester is going to be a top transfer target for several Premier League teams for the next season. He only managed three goals and two assists this season, but PL clubs still hold him in high regard for his potential. The Belgian was rumoured to be moving elsewhere for about £60 million not long ago. However, Tielemans will currently be leaving for free, and Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United are possible destinations. Tielemans is also attracting interest from the Serie A side Roma as well, and he has previously expressed his desire to relocate to a new league.

Kyle Walker-Peters (Southampton)

Next up is the young sensation from Southampton, Walker-Peters who joined the club in 2020, the 26-year-old has made a great impression on the south coast. Last year, he even made Gareth Southgate’s England team. To bolster their defence, Newcastle could use a versatile full-back, and Walker-Peters would also be a strong fit at teams like Brighton, Aston Villa, Brentford, and even his old team Tottenham.

James Ward-Prowse (Southampton)

Many know him for his free-kicks and tireless efforts throughout the field. Ward-Prowse has been a real engine for the Saints, and has orchestrated the midfield for many years. However, this might change next season as many top teams are also showing interest for the England international. He performed admirably in the Saints’ midfield this year, and his prowess at set pieces was a bright spot in their ultimately unsuccessful attempt to avoid the drop. The 28-year-old concluded the campaign with nine goals and four assists and was eighth in the league in terms of vital passes with 74. Expect a prominent summer departure.

Roméo Lavia (Southampton)

Another summer addition to Southampton who is headed for even greater things. Roméo Lavia would eventually quit the team after an outstanding first season. Domenico Tedesco, the manager of Belgium, gave the adolescent his first call-up for an international match in March as appropriate compensation for the teenager’s valiant performances in the Southampton midfield. His tackle rate of 2.4 per 90 minutes this season placed him 32nd in the Premier League, and his strong work off the ball has drawn interest from Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, and his former team, Manchester City, who added a buyback clause to his contract.

Wilfried Gnonto (Leeds)

The Italian defender has been an integral part of Leeds United till the middle of the season and since then his playing time was suddenly limited. Gnonto’s talent suggests that he won’t stay at Leeds for very long. The Italian, who was originally brought in as a prospect, immediately became a mainstay in the lineup. He had four assists and two goals by the time the season was through. By averaging 1.8 tackles per 90 minutes this season, the 19-year-old also did not back down from a challenge. It is said that the Italian forward has been watched by both Arsenal and Manchester City from the Premier League for a potential transfer.

Luis Sinisterra (Leeds United)

Leeds would demand a substantial profit if they sell Luis Sinisterra, who they acquired from Feyenoord for £21 million last summer. The Colombian’s first season in England was plagued by injury, but despite that, he managed to score five league goals in 875 minutes of Premier League play. Any team looking for a left winger who likes to cut inside and use his right foot might do worse than try to pry Sinisterra away from Elland Road due to his respectable return of two successful dribbles per 90.
