London: Harry Kane now has the record of scoring the most goals for a single club in the Premier League. The Tottenham forward made his record by netting a header against Wolves thereby scoring his 185th goal for the Spurs
Tottenham remained goalless in the first half. The 3-4-3 formation came to Spurs’aid as they prevented a Wolves goal early in the game. Wolves attempted several goal attempts in the first half with Nunez coming closer to his debut goal. Harry Kane aimed for his breakthrough goal twice with his head. Nevertheless, like they say third time was the charm.
Heung Min Son took a corner at the 64th minute. The ball flicked off Perisic and Kane put it past Wolves’ Jorge Sa for his record-setting goal. Harry’s goal remained the sole goal of the match as Spurs recorded their second win of the season. The victory also meant that the Spurs go atop the table, at least for now.
Harry Kane, 29-year-old surpassed Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero‘s record of 184 goals. Kane had equalized Aguero’s record while leveling Chelsea last weekend in 2-2. Aguero, a premier league legend scored 184 goals during his stay at City. Wayne Rooney leads in third with 183 goals for the Devils. Thierry Henry (Arsenal) follows in fourth with 175 and Alan Shearer (Blackburn Rovers) in fifth.
Harry Kane reaches 250 goals for Tottenham Hotspurs across all competitions
The Walthamstow born also created his 250th goal for Hotspur across all competitions from 389 games. Only Jimmy Greves has more than him. Jimmy Greaves has scored 266 goals for Spurs from 379 appearances. Greaves is also the leading scorer for Tottenham in the Premier League with 220 of 266 coming from PL Matches. 16 more goals can put Kane as the highest scorer for the Spurs. Heung Son-Min has scored 131 goals in 328 matches so far for the Spurs.
