Further delay in Cristiano Ronaldo debut for Al-NassrĀ

Cristiano Ronaldo will have to find out when he might make his Al-Nassr debut after the match against Al-Ta'ee was postponed.

Cristiano Ronaldo will have to wait 24 hours to find out when he might make his Al-Nassr debut after the Saudi Arabian team’s league match against Al-Ta’ee was postponed due to an electrical issue at the stadium.

After knocking a phone out of an Everton fan’s hands during a game at Goodison Park last season, Ronaldo was given a two-game FA suspension back in November. FIFA regulations state that even though the English body issued the suspension, any suspensions imposed by national associations are still valid, even if the player relocates to a different nation before serving the suspension.

Why is there another delay in Cristiano Ronaldo debut?

Prior to making his club debut on January 22 against Al-Ettifaq, Ronaldo must miss his team’s match against Al-Ta’ee on Thursday, as well as the match that follows on January 14 against Al Shabab. However, the delay to Al-first Nassr’s game since the arrival of the Portugal international now poses a threat to postpone his debut even further. The Saudi Pro League team revealed on Thursday that their match against Al-Ta’ee had been postponed because of a power outage at Mrsool Park Stadium brought on by heavy rain.

A statement from the club: “Due to heavy rain and weather conditions impacting the stadiumā€™s electricity, we have been officially informed that tonightā€™s match against Al Tae’e is postponed for 24 hours.”

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused to fans and wish everyone safe travels.”

Ronaldo’s suspension could cause him to miss the games against Al Shabab and Al-Ettifaq if the match against Al Tae’e cannot be moved to Friday. If this happens, Ronaldo won’t make his debut until the Saudi Super Cup semifinal on January 25 against Al Ittihad.
