After Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Saudi club, Al Nassr FC, there was quite a drastic change in Saudi football. Several players and coaches from top leagues around the world were signed by Saudi teams, and football got to know about the Saudi Pro League. Interestingly, most of the players going to Saudi are experienced players of the club. Likewise, Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, who is currently 29 years old, shared his thoughts on joining a Saudi club.
The Portuguese midfielder, Bernardo Silva, said,
“I would lie if I said I didn’t think about the Saudi offers.”
Here is the complete statement: “I would lie if I said I didn’t think about the Saudi offers. But what interested me was the heat of a UCL semi-final, the stadium going wild after scoring against Madrid, or when we won the final. I don’t want to give up on that.”
Looking at the above statement, Silva is less likely to join any Saudi club as of now, but in the future, he may join a club from Saudi.
Silva has played a role in Manchester City’s successful campaigns over the years. He joined the club in 2017 and has always been their first-choice player at midfield. For at least three or four seasons, City will never think of transferring Silva to Saudi or any clubs around the world.
Even City’s manager, Pep Guardiola, has mentioned,
“Bernardo Silva is one of the best players he has ever seen!”
Whether he will join a Saudi club in the future or end his football career with Manchester City, only time will let us know. Till then, let’s take a look at his career stats and achievements with City.
