Indian Umpires in IPL 2024
The Indian Premiere League is not only the perfect platform for aspiring young Indian cricketers but also for budding Indian Umpires. For the year 2024, there will be a total of 12 Indian umpires on the panel for this year’s IPL, here as follows:
Anil Chaudhary, C. Shamshuddin, Virender Sharma, K.N. Ananthapadmanabhan, Nitin Menon, S. Ravi, Vineet Kulkarni, Yashwant Barde, Ulhas Gandhe, Anil Dandekar, K Srinivasan, and Pashchim Pathak.

Foreign Umpires in IPL 2024
Over the years in IPL, the umpires have performed their role excellently for the smooth conduction of the event. Foreign umpires are also often brought in to ensure the smooth functioning of the event, and they further enhance the decision-making on the field. In the year 2024, there are presently 3 Foreign Umpires in the Indian Premier League. These are Christopher Gaffney, Richard Illingworth, and Paul Reiffel. Gaffney is an umpire hailing from New Zealand, whilst Illingworth is from English and Reiffel is from Australia.
IPL 2024 Umpires List and their Salaries
This year, the umpires are divided into two categories according to their experience. Experienced umpires are included in Elite Panel, and subsequently, inexperienced and new umpires are included in the Development umpires list.
Umpires from the Elite Panel are paid a salary of ₹1,98,000, which is a ₹23,000 increase from the previous season’s salary of ₹1,75,000. Additionally, those in the Elite Panel receive a daily allowance of ₹12,500 for every match they officiate. This also includes their expenses for travel and accommodation. The Elite Panel umpires can earn a total of ₹40 lakhs per season if they officiate all the matches.
Development Umpires also now earn a salary of ₹59,000 compared to their previous season’s salary of ₹40,000. Unfortunately, these umpires do not receive a daily allowance. Nevertheless, they receive training from Elite Panel umpires to enhance their abilities and help them grow in the future.
Sponsorships For Elite Umpires
In some cases, various companies also offer sponsorships to IPL umpires. This is received as an extra addition to their salaries.
