Real Madrid continues its midfield revolution with retainment of their no 10, Luka Modric. The former Ballon D’or winner has reportedly rejected an offer €80 per season from Saudi club Al-Ahil and decided to stay at the Spanish captial as he signed a new contract running until June 30, 2024.
While the club focuses on building a new core of the team, Modric’s contract extension means Los Blancos can rely on the legendary duo of Kroos and Modric for yet another season, this will allow new signings of Bellingham and of Brahim Diaz to learn from the experienced duo. Luka Modric arrived at Real Madrid in 2012. In his eleven seasons, he has 37 goals and 77 assists to his name in 488 games and won 23 titles, which includes 5 champions League, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 3 League titles, 2 King’s Cup and 4 Spanish Cups.
Modric and Kroos has been a pivotal part of Madrid’s success by forming a core alongside former teammate Casemiro, the trio has featured in nine finals together and won every one of them including four Champions League finals.
