The transfer saga for the ownership of Manchester United is still going on with reports from Qatar claiming that the latest proposal from Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, which was presented last week, has the Qataris feeling upbeat of being the new owner.
This is owing to Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s bid being viewed as convoluted; the fact that he gave the Glazer siblings the option to keep their minority shares for a while indicates that the deal may be more challenging to close.

The sources assert that the Americans have dragged their feet for so long in an effort to convince the parties interested in the sale to sharply raise their bids. After all, the sale was first announced back in November 2022.

The deal that will see him spend more than $6.3 billion on Manchester United has reportedly been agreed to become the new owner, according to Qatar’s Al-Watan newspaper. But later on Fahed al Emadi, the editorial director of Al-Watan, made a step to clarify the information. Sources alleged that the “international media reports” and suggest that the basis of Al-Watan’s misleading reporting was a Wales-based Twitter feed with less than 300 followers called “2SportTV.”
However, the club itself chose not to comment today, so the question mark is still looming on the future of Manchester United as the Glazers are still the current owners of the club and the takeover saga continues.Â
