The current US Open champion Swiatek downed 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu in straight sets (6-3, 6-1) to advance to the quarter-final.
The scores can make it the battle was a one-sided match but it was more than that. Although the Brit has been struggling with her form for the last 12 months or so, the Pole had to face Raducanu’s early attacks before she made a swift comeback with her onslaught to clinch the result in her favor.
