After sustaining a knee injury during the Asia Cup last year, Ravindra Jadeja had a difficult time. He hurt his knee against Hong Kong, which prevented him from being considered for the T20 World Cup.

Jadeja underwent knee surgery and underwent rehabilitation at the NCA in Bengaluru, so India’s top all-rounder was unable to travel to Australia for the T20 World Cup. The all-rounder also appears to be playing in the opening Test against Australia.

Jadeja played in a Ranji Trophy match against Tamil Nadu after making a full recovery, taking 7 wickets. In the upcoming Test series against Australia, he is once again a contender to play. Read More: Rachael Haynes is appointed head coach of Gujarat Giants in the WPL

What did Ravindra Jadeja say?

“Rehab, training and stuff, are things that you have to do regularly and you do start wondering if you will ever be fully fit. I was watching the World Cup on television and was thinking, ‘Arey yaar, I wish I was there’. These kinds of thoughts come to your mind and they motivate you to go through rehab and training and get back to full fitness quickly,” Jadeja told bcci.tv.

Jadeja appears to be playing in the opening game in Nagpur after being chosen for the Indian team. Although India’s team includes spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav, Jadeja may still be given the nod due to his impact factor.

The Indian team wants to qualify for the Test Championship Final in June, so they will be working hard to win the upcoming series.
