Hardik Pandya seems to be enjoying his new role as the Gujarat Titans skipper. The dashing all-rounder broke a major record against SRH as he became the fastest Indian to hit 100 sixes in the IPL. Pandya achieved the feat in 1046 balls compared to the previous record-holder Rishab Pant who got there in 1234 balls. The only players ahead of him are Chris Gayle and Andre Russell.
Ever since taking on the GT captaincy, Kung-fu Pandya seems a more responsible and disciplined figure. Playing the role of anchor in the game against SRH on Monday, the skipper was hit on the head by a crackerjack from speedster Umran Malik. However, the ‘West Indian of Baroda’ quickly shook off the blow and smacked two boundaries in the very over.

“I think they bowled well in the last 5 overs” – Pandya
Despite a valiant innings by the skipper and Abhinav Manohar, the Titans ended up on the losing side. The Sunrisers banking on Williamson’s fifty won the game by 8 wickets with 5 balls to spare. New Zealand fast bowler Lockie Ferguson went for 46 runs in his four overs that happened to be the Titans First loss.
The Gujarat Titans have fallen down to number five in the points table after their loss to SRH. However, that should not bother them with their key players being in form.
