Rafael Nadal, a 22-time Major winner, is the first tennis player to take part in the race boat competition. The UIM E1 World Championship, the first all-electric race boat championship in the world, will have Rafa as a new team owner.

The native of Mallorca has always had a connection to the sea, which supports E1’s mission to rebuild marine ecosystems. Along with his racing team, Nadal will support E1’s Blue Action Programme, which aims to have a positive influence on nearby communities by supporting initiatives that restore marine ecosystems.
Fellow Mallorquin Professor Carlos Duarte will serve as the Blue Action Program’s E1 chief scientist.
