Iga Swiatek will meet Jil Teichmann in the second round of the Bad Homburg Open on Wednesday (June 28).

Iga Swiatek overcame Tatjana Maria in three sets in the first round of the Bad Homburg Open which was also her first grass court match this season. She lost the first set 5-7 before thumping Maria with a 6-2, 6-2 points in the last two sets.

Before her opening Bad Homburg debut, she played and won the French Open final, beating Karolina Muchova 6-2, 5-7, 6-4. She has three titles this year so far (Qatar Open, Stuttgart Open, and French Open), while by beating Maria, she improved her win-loss record this season 35-6.

On the other hand, Teichmann qualified for the main draws of the Bad Homburg Open by beating Nadia Podoroska. In the first round, she defeated Claire Liu securing her a match against Swiatek in the next round. The 25-year-old is 15-17 on the season and hasn’t won a tournament yet this year. Overall she has two career titles.
