The 2024-24 season has turned out to be one of the most competitive in the NFL. Almost half of the teams competed for their playoff spot until the last game. Some got a place in the wild-card round, and some a return ticket for the upcoming season. Similarly, the Tennessee Titans were one of the teams that ended the tournament empty-handed. This also raises a question about their running back, Derrick Henry, future in the NFL.
Henry is 30 years old, and his fitness for the 2024–25 season is questioned, and even his contract will end. Despite being one of the most active players on the team, age always puts a question on team selections.
We have often seen teams release older players, and players like Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are perfect examples. But with the Titans running back Henry is “nowhere near done” with football.
Because Derrick Henry said:
“I want to win a Super Bowl. I am not done playing. I am not even close to done playing!”
Undoubtedly, Henry isn’t ready to leave the sport and is hungry to win games for the team. He crossed the 1,000-rushing-yard mark and was among the top running backs in the last season.
Not just the 2024–24 season, but he has been one of the top running backs for the past five seasons. For two consecutive seasons, he led the league in rushing stats. Moreover, he also won the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award in 2020.
He is one of the best running backs in the league and is hungry for more games.
Well, his contract with the Tennessee Titans is set to expire at the end of the 2024–24 season, and there is no confirmation about his contract renewal. A quick reminder: Henry has spent his entire NFL career with the Titans, but you never know.
Will Henry stay with the Titans, or will he join another NFL team for the upcoming season?
