Phoenix Suns Vs Dallas Mavericks, NBA Playoffs(Game-2), Post-Match Analysis-4 May

No team in the history of NBA has ever managed to come back from 2-0 deficit and win the best-of-seven series in the second round playoff tie, and the Mavericks will have a huge task in their hand to do the impossible which looks unlikely as the Suns brushed them aside yet again in Game-2 and looks ever more determined to wrap the playoff tie on a hurry.

The Suns have dominated the playoff tie in the last game and Game 2 was no different as their defense has managed to keep the dangerous outscoring Jalen Brunson quiet, who could manage only 9 points in the last game. Despite the brilliance of Doncic, the Mavericks looked by far the second best on the night. Doncic managed to grab 35 points with 5 rebounds and also helped his team by providing 7 assists on the night. His fellow forwards Bullock and Finney-Smith was kept at bay from scoring who combined for only 18 points with the Mavericks almost giving up the match on the last quarter of the match.

The match was pretty much in for the Mavericks in the first 2 quarters when the score was 58-60 for the Mavericks, but little did we know that the brilliance of Devin Booker and Chris Paul was coming so late. They came up with a scintillating reply to turn the match in the last two quarters of the match and finally win it 129-109 by a huge margin. Booker grabbed 30 points while Chris also supported him by netting 28 points to put the Suns on a huge 2-0 lead in the playoff tie.

Phoenix Suns Match Report

Monty Williams’s men are in a gallant form at the moment and almost all of his players have scored in double digits per game this season. Although the Suns were looking to end up on a defeat after the first two quarters performance they managed to pick themselves up at the right time and stun the Mavericks. With the experience of Chris Paul and Devin Booker back into the side, the Suns were always the favorites going in into the match. But the majority of credit goes to the back in the back Deandre Ayton who kept the Mavericks forwards away from scoring.

Dallas Mavericks Match Report

Although the Mavericks were counted as one of the favorites to win the NBA this year, they have been left stunned by the performance of their opponent and it looks like an early exit for Jason Kidd’s side. Bullock and Finney-Smith have been kept shut for both the games in the playoff tie and the only player going strong for the Mavericks’ is Luka Doncic who was everlessly great but his teammates couldn’t provide the support he needed. Dwight Powell had a bad day in the business having to cope up against Booker and Chris Paul who tore him apart and took the game away from the Mavericks.

Luka Doncic:

Luka Doncic has been in a breathtaking form all season long and last night was no different as he notched up 35 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists which all went in vain as his teammates couldn’t provide him the support he needed. He will be looking to carry this run of form and will be hoping to turn the table and take his team to the next round.

Devin Booker:

Since his arrival from injury it looks like Devin Booker has picked up his form from the point where he left it. Last night was yet another of Devin Booker classics as he managed to notch up 30 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists which ensured a great win for his team.

Chris Paul:

Chris Paul is other name of consistence as he kept his red hot form going on for the Suns who has ensured a great position for his team netting 28 points with 6 rebounds and 8 assists.
