Danny Green reportedly signed a contract with the Cavaliers on Sunday following a buyout from the Houston Rockets, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN. The contract is for a year and $2 million, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.
Green’s agent, Raymond Brothers, told Wojnarowski earlier in the day that a deal with the Cavaliers was imminent.
The Cavaliers will give Green a “major opportunity” to contribute to them as they continue to fight for a postseason place in the Eastern Conference, according to Wojnarowski.

“It depends on who becomes available,” Altman stated on February 9. “We have a roster spot, and it needs to fit. I assure you that character is extremely important to us. That locker room is fantastic”.
“And I’m not familiar with other locker rooms. I haven’t been in other locker rooms, but I know what we have going on is a rare occurrence in which guys like playing for each other. It’s authentic. There are relationships there, and people care about one another. We’ll do it if there’s someone there who can contribute to it. If not, a coin throw or a jump ball would suffice.”

Now if Danny Green joins the Cavaliers, they have the chance to create some noise in the postseason. As they currently hold the fourth-place standing in the Eastern Conference. Given that Green only recently made a full recovery from an ACL injury on February 1, it’s unknown how much of a part he will play for the Cavaliers. Before being traded, he participated in three games for the Grizzlies and averaged 14.5 minutes of bench time. On teams designed to win, a strong Green has historically made a significant impact. He is a three-time NBA champion and was crucial in defence of the Los Angeles Lakers during their title season in 2019–20.
Given his age and injury history, there are undoubtedly concerns about Green’s potential to remain the player he once was. With the Grizzlies, he appeared harsh on both ends of the court, despite the small sample size. He averaged 3.0 points on 27.3 percent shooting, 0.7 assists, and 0.3 steals per game.
