“I’m more than enthused about the possibility,” Curry stated, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. “Knowing that Coach Kerr is in charge and… I was a member of both world championship teams, and anyone who has experienced both will tell you that the Olympics are vastly different. Steph has never competed in an Olympic event
Stephen Curry was referencing his gold medal triumphs with Team USA at the FIBA World Basketball Championships in 2010 and 2014. Due to knee and ankle issues, the 34-year-old withdrew from consideration for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro after being passed over for the 2012 Olympics in London. More recently, he turned down an invitation to compete in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics in order to rest up for the NBA season in 2021–2022. The Warriors won the NBA championship for the first time since 2018 as a result of his choice.
It will have been ten years since Curry competed on the world level if he gets chosen for the 2024 Olympics. Basketball fans around the world anticipate him to make a three-pointer with a gold medal on the line since he is one of the top players in the world.
