The Dallas Mavericks are now dealing with a dilemma. There have been rumors that the team wants to neutralize its Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving backcourt with three games left in the regular season. They only have a 0.5-game lead over the OKC Thunder, but their 6’7″ guard has made it quite apparent that he will not give up until the last second. They left only two games for the Thunder, one of which is against the Grizzlies, who are the second-seed.
If the Mavericks want to at least make the Play-In, they can’t really afford to bench both Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic. Not to mention that they’ll be competing against a Kings team that has recently been on fire after ending a 16-year playoff drought. Sacramento has every incentive to succeed as well since, at least for the time being, securing the second seed in the Western Conference is still within their grasp.
So, it is possible that the Mavericks will still advance to the Play-ins and perhaps the Playoffs after that. Nevertheless, they will also need Kyrie Irving for it. Will he put on the Mavericks uniform once more? It’s currently one of the most important questions. Is Kyrie Irving Playing Against Sacramento Kings?
Kyrie Irving has been listed as probable for Wednesday’s game against the Sacramento Kings. In the past few weeks, Irving has experienced right foot pain. As the Mavericks fell to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday, 132-130, “Uncle Drew” didn’t appear to be affected by his right foot. Irving was outstanding, scoring a game-high 41 points on 16 of 27 field goal attempts from outside the arc.
They continued to hold down the 11th slot in the Western Conference after the loss of the Hawks, desperately trying to still qualify for the play-in playoffs. Yesterday, there were rumors that the Dallas Mavericks were considering benching Kyrie Irving.
