Miami Heat will look to extend its lead to 2-0 against the 76ers at home in game 2 of the conference semifinals. Game 1 though was interesting in the first half with the sixers going to the dugout leading 51-50 at the half. They were outscored by Miami 56-41 in the second half, Miami went on a run in the 4th quarter supported by some solid defence against Harden and Maxey. Both teams shot poorly from behind the three-point line, Miami shot 26% whereas the Sixers shot only 17%.
Without Joel Embid, the onus was on Harden to carry the Sixers home but he failed to put a monster 30-40 points game and was able to score only 16 points, Harris stepped up and gave 27 but even that wasn’t enough to get past the Heat led by Herro’s 25 and Adebayo’s 24 points. Adebayo was essentially living in the paint against Sixers in game 1 and killing them from inside.

They understand that the only edge Sixers had over them was Embid and in his absence, they can dominate the heat with good defence and securing rebounds which leads to good shot selection in transition.
Herro has been amazing coming off the bench, with Shaq calling him the new Mike Miller for the heat, having won the Sixth Man of the Year award, his confidence is off the charts and we can expect another high scoring game from him.

Philly cannot beat the Miami Heat in the paint so Coach Doc Rivers need to figure out a way to play fast basketball and attempt more shots which will help Harden create space and have fewer guys to blow past in transition rather than a set ha,f court defence of heat which he was unable to penetrate. We know Maxey can outrun any player in the league with his speed, they need to figure out a way to use it to their advantage and beat the heat with pace, the more shots they attempt, the good chance they have of scoring and returning to Philly with the series level at 1-1.
