The Brooklyn Nets’ 12-game winning streak was snapped against the Chicago Bulls
As the Nets lost 121-112 against the Bulls, Brooklyn ruined Kevin Durant’s stellar performance and lost the chance to go into first place in the Eastern Conference.
It was the Nets’ first setback since Dec. 4 against Boston, the only club ahead of them in the standings, and it ended a 12-game winning streak for them. The Nets (25-13) had the opportunity to pull into a tie, but as a result of Milwaukee’s victory, they are now third, one game behind the Celtics.
Durant scored a game-high 44 points, but the wasteful Nets wasted his extraordinary performance. They saw the Bulls put six players in double figures on the strength of 53.1 percent shooting they allowed.
Coach Jacque Vaughn of Brooklyn said, “They came to play. They were driven to win, and we required the same drive”.
As said by Bull’s guard Zach LaVine, “Ayo brought it defensively.” Bring the energy while getting blocks and steals.
Derozan and Patrick Williams’s combo also couldn’t be stopped by Kevin Durant’s 44
DeMar DeRozan and Patrick Williams both scored 22 points to lead the Bulls, who had six players in double figures. Ayo Dosunmu scored 17 points and pulled down seven boards, while Nikola Vucevic finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists. With only 13 points, Zach LaVine had trouble. In the last minute, Williams and DeRozan each made two free throws to secure the victory.
Durant, meanwhile, finished with 44 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Seth Curry contributed 22 points off the bench while Kyrie Irving added 25 points, eight assists, four rebounds, and four. Royce O’Neal had a dreadful night, failing to score and missing every one of his nine attempts.
