The Australian F1 driver, Oscar Piastri, extends his contract with McLaren. He joined McLaren as their second driver for this season and will stay with them until 2026.
Post-Summer Break in F1, McLaren has made a habit of scoring points. They were finding it difficult at the start of the 2024 F1 season. But since the Austrian Grand Prix, they have secured points in every race and six top-five finishes, including three podium finishes.
Moreover, they were in the top two teams at the start of the season but are now comfortably sitting in the 5th position in the Constructors Championship. All thanks to their drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Both have pushed the car to its very best limit and have even secured the first three positions in qualifying.
Norris has performed extremely well this season, but for Piastri, in his debut season, placing the race in the top 5 for more than two races is a lot more than a championship. With seven races left, can Piastri and Norris secure their first pole and Grand Prix win? For that, we will have to wait. Till then, let’s take a look at both McLaren drivers’ journeys in the 2024 season.
