The 2024 season was a perfect season for Max Verstappen and the Red Bull F1 Team. They won the drivers’ championship, constructors’ championship, pitstop championship, power rankings, and every possible award the team could achieve. We all know how fast F1 cars are, and Verstappen was undoubtedly the fastest. As a result, he single-handedly defeated everyone. But he wasn’t the fastest driver on the grid. But how? Because it was the iceman, Valtteri Bottas, who was the fastest on the grid.
Fastest at Speed Traps
- Valtteri Bottas: 361.9 KPH (Mexico GP)
- Lewis Hamilton: 359 KPH (Italian GP)
- Charles Leclerc: 350.5 KPH (Las Vegas GP)
- Lance Stroll: 348 KPH (Miami GP)
- Kevin Magnussen: 346.4 KPH (Spanish GP)

Only one driver crossed the 360+ KPH mark, and it was the Alfa Romeo car. It was the Mexican Grand Prix that helped Valtteri Bottas touch 361.9 KPH under DRS. Not seeing Max Verstappen on the list is quite questionable. One of the most interesting facts about that GP was that Max Verstappen finished first, whereas Bottas finished last (15th position). This proves that being the fastest car doesn’t make you a stronger opponent. There are a lot more factors that make you the champion.
