For the second time, Zak Brown raises concerns about the Red Bull-Alpha Tauri relationship

The 2024 F1 season was a complete roller coaster ride for the Alpha Tauri team. They stood at the bottom of the constructors’ championship for almost the entire season but somehow finished 8th by the end. Some say the credit goes to their sister team, Red Bull, as they helped them with some components. There are rumors that there will be a collaboration between the teams for the 2024 season and a potential top-2 finish. Looking at their relationship, McLaren CEO Zak Brown has raised some concerns.

For the first time, Zak Brown mentioned:

“It is an unhealthy situation. It is not in the spirit of the regulations.”

Now, for the second time, he said:

“To have teams team up, I think, is against the spirit of what the definition of a constructor is. I think not only does it help the B team, but I believe it also helps the A team. Every other major sport, to my knowledge, does not allow it.”

Over the years, we have seen several collaborations between F1 teams. When we look at the current grid, only Red Bull and Alpha Tauri are sister teams. Their kind of collaboration in the last few races of the 2024 season has raised some concerns for McLaren.

But on the other hand, both teams have denied their collaboration for the 2024 season. Well, this statement by Zak Brown might bring in some tweaks to the rules and regulations by the FIA for sister teams. Do let us know your views on sister teams in Formula 1.
