UFC 281 Features Erin Blanchfield VS Molly McCann

ERIN BLANCHFEILD VS MOLLY MCCANN

In front of her home crowd, rising prospect Erin Blanchfield will face Molly McCann in the octagon at UFC 281.

UFC 281, which takes place on November 12 at Madison Square Garden in New York, features a fight between Blanchfield and McCann. After McCann hinted that news would be revealed soon, Blanchfield first made the announcement via her Instagram account.

On Thursday morning, the UFC announced the fight on social media.

Blanchfield has won five matches in a row, including her first three in the UFC. The No. 13 flyweight in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings picked up her first promotional finish in her most recent outing when she submitted JJ Aldrich at this past June’s UFC Vegas 56 event. She had previously defeated Sarah Alpar and Miranda Maverick by decisive decisions in her previous two octagon outings.

McCann has started her 2022 run off with three straight victories, which is about as good as it gets for a fighter these days. At the UFC London event in March, “Meatball” defeated Luana Carolina in the third round with a vicious spinning back elbow, earning the KO of the Year candidate. At the UFC’s return to London four months later, the 32-year-old landed another spinning back elbow, this time resulting in a first-round TKO victory over Hannah Goldy.

The main event of UFC 281 is a middleweight title match between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira.
