Williams Racing spends over $7.1 million on repairs for both their drivers’ F1 cars in 2024

The 2024 F1 season was a complete package of entertainment. The season was dominated by the Red Bull F1 team and Max Verstappen, but there was a lot of competition among other drivers. There were qualification battles, celebrations, penalties, last-lap thrillers, and many more. But one thing that was quite common was the safety car and virtual safety car factor. Well, one of the main reasons for safety cars was the regular car crashes, and among them, Williams Racing was the one that led the chart.

Their drivers, Logan Sargeant and Alex Albon cost the team more than $7.1 million in repairs. This is the highest repair cost by any team in the 2024 F1 season. Ferrari was second on the list with $5.5 million in repair charges.

One of the main reasons why the repair cost of Williams Racing went over $7.1 million was their rookie driver, Logan Sargeant. In his first-ever season, the driver only managed to score one point and had seven DNFs. As a result, the cost of repairing his car was around $4.3 million, which is more than the repair costs of seven F1 teams.

During the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix and the 2024 Japanese Grand Prix, the cost of repairing his car went over $1.4 million and $1.1 million, respectively.

On the other hand, Alex Albon also had four DNFs, which cost the car several repairs. As a result, the cost of repairing his car was around $2.7 million. Altogether, both drivers cost the Willaims Racing team a total of $7.1 million in repairs.
