Iga Swiatek wins the WTA Player of the Year Award

A few weeks ago, the WTA Award nominees were announced. Several award categories were announced, and fans were eagerly excited for the WTA Player of the Year award. Six players, i.e., Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Elena Rybalina, and Marketa Vondrousova, were nominated, and it was a tough choice as to who would win the award. The reason is that the 2024 season had different Grand Slam winners, and the remaining two lifted several WTA titles.

Finally, the results are out, and the Polish tennis player, Iga Swiatek, won the WTA Player of the Year award. She won the award in 2022, and this is her second WTA Player of the Year award. After Serena Williams, Swiatek is the first player to win back-to-back awards, and she truly deserves it.

Iga Swiatek is currently the No. 1 ranked player and won the 2024 French Open. Apart from that, she won four more titles, including the WTA Finals. Her first title of the 2024 season was at Doha, and a few months later, she won the WTA Stuttgart. Her third title of the season was the French Open title. For her 4th title, she had to wait for a while, which came in Warsaw, and later the 5th title that she won was the WTA Finals.

Swiatek truly deserved the 2024 WTA Player of the Year Award, and here are her 2024 season stats.
