The first football club of every player holds a special place in their heart. Even if they get transferred to any bigger club, the first club is a special place. Moreover, some players return to their first club after getting transferred to other clubs. Ronaldo joined Manchester United back in 2021, Antoine Griezmann joined Atletico Madrid back in 2021, and many more. Similarly, the Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva was asked about returning to his first club.
The Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva said:
“I want to go back!”
Benfica is Bernardo Silva’s first football club. He debuted professionally with them in 2013 but has been part of them since 2002. Silva was just eight when he joined Benfica’s youth football team. Since then, he has represented the club for several seasons until 2013, when he joined Benfica’s second team.
He represented the Benfica main and B teams during the 2013 season. Later in 2014, he was loaned to Monaco, and since then, he has had a chance to play for them. Following a few seasons, he joined Manchester City and has represented the club for seven seasons.
Over the years, he has won several titles that every player dreams of. With Monaco, he won the Ligue 1 title in 2016–17. With Manchester City, he won five Premier Leagues, four EFL Cups, two FA Cups, two Community Shields, one Champions League, and one FIFA Club World Cup title. It would be unfair if we didn’t say he has completed club football.
He won every club title and wants to win more but with his first club. The club that gave him everything. So don’t be surprised if Bernardo Silva joins Benfica in the upcoming season.
