“I think Jannik Sinner is going to reach the No. 1 in 2024,” says Carlos Alcaraz

The 2024 ATP season has been full of surprises and is closing with one of the best ATP finals over the past few years. To be honest, it has seen everything! veterans dominating the game, youngsters breaking down the top-ranked players, numerous changes in ATP rankings, and many more. Among them, Alcaraz winning Wimbledon by defeating the No. 1 ranked player, Novak Djokovic, in the finals must be the best moment. Not just Alcaraz, the Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner has to defeat Djokovic. Well, after that, the former No. 1 ranked player, Alcaraz, said something about Sinner, which can’t be denied.

Carlos Alcaraz said,

“I think Jannik Sinner is going to reach the No. 1 rank in 2024.”

To be honest, Alcaraz is not wrong. Jannik Sinner has been one of the most consistent players in the past couple of seasons. He has played more than 20 tournaments every season and has a win percentage of more than 78%.

Most importantly, he has defeated all the top-ranking players. Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and several other players have faced defeats against him. Not just once or twice, but multiple times.

In the past couple of seasons, he has won five ATP Tour titles and played in the quarterfinal and semifinal matches of every Grand Slam tournament. Currently, he stands 4th in the latest ATP rankings, and if he wants to become the No. 1 ranked player, he has to double the number of titles and remain undefeated.

Can Sinner be the No. 1 ranked player in the ATP rankings in 2024? Can he win a grand slam and multiple Masters titles in the upcoming season? Only time will let us know. Till then, let’s take a look at Sinner’s performance in the past couple of seasons.
