In a season full of highs, Arsenal experienced the lowest of lows last night as a humbling 4-1 battering by Manchester City put their title hopes in massive jeopardy.
Arsenal are now winless in 4 games, a total of 3 points out of a possible 12 to their name. Form you’d expect from a side fighting against relegation rather than winning the league. The mentality and inexperience of the team have been fully exposed and Manchester City have all but capitalized on it. Also read:The Bundesliga Title: Can Dortmund Do The Unthinkable?
What is next for the title race?
City have picked up pace right as Arsenal slowed down and with an easier set of fixtures to their name, will look to continue with the same. A new formation by Guardiola and creating more chances down the center for Haaland to finish have been the reasons behind the revival of their dominance.
Arsenal on the other hand, still have to play hosts to Chelsea and face Newcastle away. The absence of talents like William Saliba and Takehiro Tomiyasu have already extremely hampered their title hopes. They will have to be consistently on top of their game to stand a chance from this point on. Leandro Trossard must be involved more in the first team too, with him being someone who can consistently exploit spaces and play centrally too if Jesus takes to roaming down the left. City already have one hand on the title, the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones made sure of it last night. But we may not be over the twists and turns yet with 7 games still left to play for City. We’ve seen them drop points this season and every Arsenal fan would be hoping for the same. All we know for sure is that every game continues to be a must watch from here on.
