Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid joined on a temporary loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Chelsea announced on Wednesday that forward Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid joined on a temporary loan for the remainder of the campaign. Both Felix and Chelsea announced the confirmation of the deal on Instagram. Chelsea added: “the artist has arrived”, while Felix tweeted: “Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very, very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge,”. How good will Joao Felix be for Chelsea?

Felix made one of the most expensive transfers in history when he moved from Benfica to Atletico in 2019 for 126 million euros ($135 million). In 131 appearances for the team, Felix has scored 34 goals.

He scored in Portugal’s 3-2 group-stage win over Ghana, and he also played a role in Portugal’s run to the World Cup quarterfinals in Qatar last month. On Wednesday, Atletico announced that Felix had extended his agreement with them for an additional year, or until June 2027.
