After a disappointing season last year, Tottenham Hotspur aimed to sign a solid center-back for the 23/24 season. Club’s new manager Ange Postecoglou was in favor of the Dutch player’s signing and wanted him to join the squad as soon as possible. Micky is the perfect defender for the club as he’s a solid defender who’ll compliment his centre-back partnership Cristian Romero as well.
Micky signed a six-year deal worth €50 million plus add-ons with Tottenham Hotspur. The deal is valid until June 2029.
With this signing, Tottenham Hotspur has ensured that the weakness they had in their defensive lineup last season is not going to be a problem in the upcoming season.
