Every motorsport fan was shocked when Lewis Hamilton announced he would leave Mercedes to join Ferrari. It was an unexpected move, and things are expected to get spicy in 2025. One of the main reasons for Hamilton joining Ferrari is his better chances of fighting for the championship. When Max Verstappen was asked about Hamilton’s move to Ferrari, here is what he replied:
Max Verstappen said:
“If Lewis is happy with that move, then he should go. I think it will look cool.”

Why did Hamilton move to Ferrari?
As we know, Mercedes is one of the teams that have struggled in the past two seasons. Before that, they were the provisional champions, but the last two seasons have been a complete downfall.
To be in a slower car on the grid doesn’t make sense for a seven-time F1 World Champion. On the other hand, Ferrari is the only one that has challenged Red Bull for championships. Though they have failed both times, they have the second-best car on the grid.
It was almost impossible for Lewis to join Red Bull and as a result, Ferrari was the best option.
Moreover, joining Ferrari is a dream of every Formula 1 driver. Sebastian Vettel did it; now Lewis Hamilton will race for them in 2025, and possibly Max Verstappen might join them in the future.
In all this drama, we will finally see the proper Verstappen vs. Hamilton battle if Ferrari matches the Red Bull. Will Hamilton’s decision to join Ferrari work out for him? Let us know your views in the comment section.
