Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium Raipur Pitch Report and ODI Stats

The action for India and New Zealand’s second and penultimate match of the series will take place at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, in Raipur, following a high-scoring first ODI at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. As the batters scored nearly 700 runs from both teams in today’s first ODI, both teams’ bowling attacks in particular appeared disorganized. Although the Kiwi batsmen at positions 7 and 8 toyed with their attack and put together a partnership worth 162 runs off just 102 deliveries, Team India will not be happy with how their bowlers performed during the second half of their bowling innings.

Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium Pitch Report

On January 21, Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium will host its first-ever international game. But the location has also previously played host to a few Champions League T20 games and a total of six IPL games. Additionally, it has hosted many Road Safety World Series games over the past few years. Even though most Indian pitches are suitable for batting, the Raipur track hasn’t always been where the batters would easily follow through on their promises. As the game continues, the pitch here has the propensity to slow down, putting spinners into play and forcing pacers to rely on their variations and slower deliveries. The bowlers will have more confidence as a result of the relatively larger boundary dimensions at this location to give their deliveries more lift and adjust to the change in pace.

Overall, unlike the first ODI in Hyderabad, Saturday’s match should be evenly matched in terms of bat and ball.
