Faf du Plessis is a retired South African cricketer who played for the South African national cricket team. He is currently the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League (IPL).  Du Plessis made his international debut for South Africa in a T20I against England in 2011. Faf du Plessis Career

Faf du Plessis is a former South African cricketer who played as a right-handed middle-order batsman and occasional leg-spin bowler. He had a successful professional career that spanned over a decade, both at the domestic and international levels. Du Plessis made his debut for the Northerns cricket team in 2004. He also played for the Titans in domestic cricket, where he won several trophies, including the Four-Day Franchise Series and the Ram Slam T20 Challenge.

Du Plessis had many notable performances throughout his international career. In 2012, he played a crucial role in South Africa’s Test series win in England, scoring two centuries in the series. In 2013, he scored his maiden Test century against Australia, which helped South Africa save the Test match. He made his IPL debut in 2011 for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In his Test career, he played 69 matches and scored 4,163 runs at an average of 40.02. His highest Test score of 199* came against Sri Lanka in 2021. In 2019, he announced his retirement from Test cricket after playing 69 matches and scoring 4163 runs at an average of 40.02. He continued to play in limited-overs cricket and was part of South Africa’s squad for the 2020 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

 In 2016, he became the first and only international captain to defeat Australia 5-0 in a five-match One-Day International series. Du Plessis was frequently referred to as the “magic dragon slayer of Australians,” and the 2010s in international cricket saw South Africa rule Australia like no other team.
