Warriors were on a mission in Game 3 at home and came out blazing shooting 53% from behind the arc and 63% overall. Steph Curry, Thompson and Poole combined for 78 of the Warriors’ 142 points. Kuminga started the game in place of Peyton II who got injured in game 2 and the Warriors’ death lineup dominated the young Grizzlies in transition in the second half. The Grizzlies did not have any answers to Steve Kerr’s offence with the ball fizzing around and ending up in an open uncontested 3-pointer.
Morant was impressive shooting 62% and scoring 34 points but he lacked support from his teammate with none of them even touching 20 point mark. The warriors had 13 more assists than the Grizzlies indicating a lack of ball movement. However, the most worrying thing for the Grizzlies was the late-game knee injury to Morant by unnecessary contact from Poole that too when the game was almost over.
