Former number 1 and 5-time Grand Slam winner Maria Sharapova announced on social media that she is expecting her first child soon. Russian tennis star Sharapova took to Instagram to announce this news to her 4.2 million followers and wrote “Precious beginnings!!! 🤍👼🏻 Eating birthday cake for two has always been my specialty ☺️🐣🎂”.
Sharapova has shared a picture of standing at a beach with a smile. Sharapova engaged with British businessman Alexander Gilkes in December 2020.

Maria Sharapova is a former number 1 Tennis player and hold the position for 21 weeks in her career. She also won five Grand Slams with a career Grand Slam. However, due to a soldier injury, she was not able to participate in Australian Open, 2008 Beijing Olympics and US Open.
Sharapova lives in the US while she played under the Russian flag. She made highlights when she won the Wimbledon as 17 years old becoming the third-youngest player in the event’s history.
Maria Sharapova retired from Tennis in 2020 just before the pandemic.
