This tournament was his first one since winning his 22nd Grand Slam at the Australian Open by beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final. And before the Grand Slam, he won the Adelaide International also. The World No.1 is on a 17-2 win-loss record this year. Talking about the Serb’s compatriot Dusan Lajovic, he outclassed Gregoire Barrere and Filip Krajinovic in the previous two rounds. Ahead of the Banja Luka, he faced a third-round exit at the Monte-Carlo Masters and lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the second round at the Miami Open. He also failed to qualify for the main draws at the Indian Wells Masters.
He started this year at the ASB Classic and went on to get knocked out in several tournaments- Australian Open, Cordoba Open, Argentina Open, Rio Open, and Chile Open.
