Former World No.1 Andy Murray‘s short coaching career ended in “disgrace” as his daughter Edie Murray rejected him as a coach.
After his first-round exit at Monte Carlo Masters, Murray started giving tennis classes to his five-year-old daughter Edie. However, the child left her dad a note, saying she refused to play with her dad for standing too close to her. “Dear Daddy I am not going to play tennis for a while. Lots of love, Edie,” Murray shared his daughter’s note to him on his Instagram Story.
He captioned the Story with: “My first venture into coaching world has ended in disgrace. 5 year old daughter has quit telling me “I don’t want to play with you anymore.. you stand too close to me.”
The Brit and his wife Kim Sears got married in 2015 and welcomed their first child Sophia in 2016. Their second child, Edie, was born two years later, followed by their first son Teddy in 2019. Andy Murray will play in Madrid Open
Andy Murray will take part in the ATP Masters 1000 Madrid Open, which is scheduled to start on Wednesday (April 26). He also played in the tournament last year, defeating Dominic Thiem and Denis Shapovalov. He was then set to play against Novak Djokovic, however, the former was forced to withdraw from the match due to illness.
He had previously talked of participating in all three clay court Masters, before deciding to take part at the 2024 French Open based on how his body feels.
