Dallas Morning News Mavs and Olympics reporter Callie Caplan labeled Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic as “out” for Saturday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies due to a left thigh injury. The Mavs list him as “day-to-day” him.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Luka Doncic MRI on his hurt thigh came back negative on Thursday. Doncic will return “as soon as his discomfort lets him,” according to Wojnarowski.
Doncic sustained the injury shortly after the All-Star break, maybe during Sunday’s defeat to the Suns. Jason Kidd updated Luka Doncic injury status and announced that the star player won’t be traveling with the group on its upcoming trip.
“Luka is day-to-day due to a left thigh injury. We’ll monitor his emotions. He won’t be traveling.” said Kidd.
“We can all tell that he’s not moving properly, and it’s affecting everything, including his shooting and defense,” Kidd said. “He is making an effort to push through it and support his teammates, but they forced him to leave. Hopefully, it’s not a significant issue. Before we play Memphis, we have a few days here. I’m hoping he comes back soon.”
Luka Doncic won’t be able to participate in Saturday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies. On Monday, the Mavs host the Grizzlies. The three-time All-Star left the game against the New Orleans Pelicans in the third quarter after injuring his left thigh during Wednesday’s 113-106 loss. Dallas outscored the Pelicans 41-30 in the last frame, but New Orleans managed to hold on.
The comeback of the Doncic has no set date.
