“The Audi Project could be the next opportunity!” says Valtteri Bottas

The 2014–2020 Mercedes F1 team was a complete beast. They won both championships for seven consecutive years, and Lewis Hamilton played a crucial role. Hamilton won six championships and almost won the 2021 championship. Whereas the one championship was won by Nico Rosberg in 2016, who retired after that season. From 2017 to 2021, Finnish racing driver Valtteri Bottas partnered with Hamilton in the Mercedes seat.

Bottas was one of the unsung warriors in Mercedes’ dominance from 2014 to 2021. He joined them in 2017, and since then, he has won 10 races and finished on the podium 16 times. His contribution to the team was enough to win the constructor’s championship.

On the other hand, he often didn’t get much chance to compete for the drivers’ championship, as Lewis Hamilton was conquering every grand prix. Now, Bottas is part of the Stake F1 team, and his dream of winning the F1 championship is still alive. Recently, when talking about fighting for the championship, here is what he answered:

“I’m still hungry to get back on the podium eventually. The Audi project could be the next opportunity.”

For those who don’t know, the Audi F1 team will replace the Stake F1 team in the 2026 season. As a result, several drivers would love to join the German team. With the above statement, we can confirm that Valtteri Bottas is one of them.
