Costa on his contract
During his pre- and post-fight interviews, Costa, who defeated Luke Rockhold this past Saturday at UFC 278 in Salt Lake City, stated that he wasn’t sure if he had one or two fights left on his current contract with the organization. However, he confirmed in an interview with Ag. Fight that he still has one fight left.
“There’s one more,” Costa said. “It could be in December or January.”

Tamara Alves’ take
The former UFC title contender glanced at his manager Tamara Alves (also his girlfriend) when asked if he’s willing to sign a new contract and, with a smile on his face, said, “what do I say?” Alves can be heard saying “it depends on the money.”
“It all depends on the negotiation,” Costa said. “I have to look at my side a bit more. The UFC is a great promotion and every MMA fighter dreams of being here, but I think I also have other opportunities to fight, including boxing. I love boxing. [Boxing has good] money too, but I love boxing.”

What’s next for costa?
Costa claimed that since “the UFC knows really well” how to book fights, he “leaves it to the UFC” to select his next opponent.
“If I were to choose one it would be [Isreal] Adesanya, the current champion, but let’s see,” he said. “There are many [names] out there. There’s Derek Brunson. Derek Brunson, what’s up, you p***y [laughs]. Do you want? I don’t know I think he wouldn’t accept it.”
With his UFC 278 decision win over Rockhold, Costa bounced back from consecutive defeats to Adesanya and Marvin Vettori. Brunson’s five-fight winning streak was stopped by Jared Cannonier in February, and he is now due to fight Jack Hermansson on Dec. 3.
