The MMA community paid tribute to the Brazilian legend on social media after hearing the news that Jose Aldo had ended his illustrious 18-year fighting career. Aldo, 36, is renowned as the greatest ever at featherweight, a pound-for-pound legend, and a pioneer in the lighter weight divisions.
His final record is 31-8, which includes a 13-7 UFC mark and two reigns as the featherweight champion of the organization.

Jose Aldo successfully defended his 145-pound championship seven times in a row during his first reign. Which is still a UFC record. Aldo previously held the WEC featherweight championship, which he twice successfully defended. Before becoming the first featherweight champion of the UFC.
Aldo has triumphed over top featherweight competitors Urijah Faber, Chad Mendes, Frankie Edgar, “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung, Ricardo Lamas, and Mike Brown in addition to current bantamweight contenders Rob Font, Pedro Munhoz, and Marlon Vera.
