The 2024 season for the Aston Martin F1 team was a complete transition season. Sebastian Vettel, who carried the team for two seasons, retired from Formula 1, and Fernando Alonso joined them. No one expected them to be a challenger for Red Bull and Max Verstappen in the championship, but they did the unexpected.
In the first eight races of the season, Fernando Alonso finished on the podium six times. He single-handedly carried the team into the constructor standing. On the other hand, Lance Stroll was struggling but managed to finish in the top 10 consistently.
Aston Martin were among the top teams in the constructors and were going strong until the summer break. But after the summer break, things started to shatter, and they were failing to secure podium finishes as well as points.
Sadly, as the season progressed, they were getting chased by other teams. From second place to fifth place in the constructors, this shows evidence of their disappointing second half.
