Luis Enrique sacked
After a poor 2022 World Cup campaign, Luis Enrique’s tenure as Spain’s manager is over. La Roja started off by thrashing Costa Rica 7-0, but Morocco ousted them in the round of 16 after losing on penalties. The Spanish Football Federation has finally made the announcement of Luis Enrique’s sacking as a coach (RFEF).
They made the decision not to extend Luis Enrique’s contract. Which was due to expire at the end of the year, after a dismal campaign in Qatar. We expected Spain to go far in the competition, but they were only able to do so after coming in second to Japan in Group E.. A determined Morocco team then eliminated them.

RFEF Statement
The RFEF issued a statement expressing gratitude to Luis Enrique and his entire coaching staff for leading the whole national team in recent years. “A report from the RFEF’s sports management has been forwarded to the president, in which it is determined that a new project should begin for the Spanish Soccer Team in order to maintain the progress seen in recent years as a result of the efforts of Luis Enrique and his associates. Both have communicated the choice to the coach, the president, Luis Rubiales, and the sports director, José Francisco Molina.”
“Through a significant regeneration that solidified a generational change in the team and in Spanish soccer, the Asturian coach has been able to give the national team fresh life since his arrival in 2018.”
