FIFA World Cup 2022: Raphael Varane “fit and ready” to face Denmark

France's star defender Raphael Varane is ready to return to action for France's FIFA World Cup 2022 match against Denmark.

France’s star defender Raphael Varane is ready to return to action for France’s FIFA World Cup 2022 match against Denmark after missing more than a month due to a leg injury, according to coach Didier Deschamps.ย 

Varane was left out of France‘s 4-1 win over Australia in Group D due to fitness issues. But Deschamps said he was fit to play before that game and could play at the 974 Stadium on Saturday.

FIFA World Cup 2022: What did Didier Deschamps say?

โ€œHe could have played, he was ready, he was fit. We discussed it with him,โ€ Deschamps told reporters.

โ€œHe was fit for the first game and heโ€™s fit for the second game, we will have to make that decision. The main thing is that heโ€™s fit and ready.โ€

Good news for France as they heavily relied on Varane as he is a key player for the French side.ย

France all set to face Denmarkย 

France are all aware of how strong the Danish side are so they will take no risk and play will their 100%.

โ€œThey beat us twice and made life very difficult for us, so we have to make sure thatโ€™s not the case tomorrow,โ€ said Deschamps.

โ€œItโ€™s not a case of wanting revenge because we know the Denmark players and they know usโ€ฆ weโ€™ve looked at their players and learned from the experience, but they will have too.โ€ he added.

Captain Hugo Lloris also added a few words of his own: โ€œItโ€™s a different competition, but it gives you an idea of the Danish team, they are excellent and capable of beating the best,โ€ said Lloris.

โ€œWe canโ€™t say we donโ€™t know them, donโ€™t need any extra motivation at this stage of the tournamentโ€ฆ We know itโ€™s a decisive game for qualification.โ€
