England captain Kane and manager Gareth Southgate, on the other hand, have stated that they “want to wear the OneLove Armband” in their first match of the quadrennial tournament.

Manuel Neuer set to wear “One Love” Armband for Germany’s 1st Match in the FIFA World Cup 2022
Earlier on Saturday, Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer stated that he intends to defy FIFA’s campaign requiring captains to wear only official armbands with specific slogans during World Cup games.
FIFA requires that equipment such as captains’ armbands be authorised and provided by FIFA. But Neuer has confirmed that he will wear the “One Love” design even if it means a fine.

What does FIFA regulation say about the armbands?
According to FIFA’s equipment regulations, team captains must wear armbands provided by FIFA during FIFA competitions. Meanwhile, FIFA has declined to comment on the matter, despite saying on Saturday that they are “committed to using the power of football to effect positive change around the world.” However, FIFA may initiate disciplinary proceedings against teams that violate the rule and impose fines of up to $10,500.
