Manchester United and TeamViewer have reached a ‘mutually beneficial’ agreement to end their shirt sponsorship deal

Manchester United and TeamViewer have reached a ‘mutually beneficial’ agreement to end their shirt sponsorship deal. The German software firm has a five-year deal with the Premier League giants that runs until 2026 and is worth £47 million per year or £235 million in total.

However, the company has announced that they have reached a “mutually beneficial agreement” with the club that allows United to repurchase the shirt sponsorship rights. This would imply that the front-of-shirt spot could be sold to someone else instead.

Why did Manchester United and TeamViewer end their deal?

This follows news that the Glazer family is looking to sell the club. And TeamViewer believes that this makes the arrangement beneficial to both parties.

A TeamViewer statement read: “After a period of collaborative, private discussions over the past months, Man United and TeamViewer AG have reached a mutually-beneficial agreement under which Man United shall have the option to buy back the rights to the club’s shirt front sponsorship.
